I have to use a lot of scrunchies with thin hair so it doesn't irritate my scalp. I like the halo a lot, I feel like it is easiest on my scalp and adds good volume. I have tried clip-ins as well but they also irritated my scalp but plenty of people with fine thin hair don't have issues with them my dermatologist said that tape-ins are the safest kind of permanent extension that is not everyone's experience though. I used to wear tape-ins but I felt like I lost more hair when I had them. I hope this helps! I will try to post a pic of my natural hair for thinness reference. The truth is, you will be much more aware that you are wearing them and wondering if the tape / bonds show soooo much more than they actually do.Īlso: Check out this girl on YouTube her videos about hair extensions are soooo good. Over 15 years I can honestly tell you : no body (that I know of anyway) has ever been able to tell I wear my hair extensions. If your hair texture is different from the extensions, they will be a bit more noticeable as extensions. You want extensions that are thick root to ends. ![]() some are really really REALLY thin and scraggly. its how the extensions look from root to end. One of the most important things about extensions is not actually the attachment type. Find a stylist who will work with you and doesn't mind you taking them out, washing, drying, straightening, and re-taping. One suggestion I have for you : if you get tape ins, Take them out yourself when you are ready to move them up. they are an investment but over time you learn how to get the most for your money. Hair extensions literally changed my life. rooted, baylage, beach waves, highlights. They also have a million options for wigs, halos, tape ins, wefts, fusions, etc. The hair wears incredibly well, holds up to my constant hair washing, can be dyed to match your natural hair color. I am obsesssssed with Glam Seamless hair extensions. Here are the companies I've tried : Great Lengths (amazing), Donna Bella (not great), Babe Hair ( pretty good), Glam Seamless (My top choice). Then I tried the combo tape-ins and fusion and its perrrrfeecttt!!! For years I complained the tape-ins around my hairline would stick out and look bad with a ponytail at the gym. I workout everyday and so I need to put my hair up. The fusions or beads will blend better and give you more movement in these areas. ![]() Areas on the sides of head or around the face, use the beads or the fusions. Here is what I might suggest: Use tape in at the back of the head / nape of neck / areas with more hair to cover. Lots of stylists know how to do the tape-ins and the fusions but the beads aren't as common so unless you live near a city or someone who knows how to do them, your options are slightly limited. You also may have some difficulty finding someone who knows how to install the beads. Beads I've not tried but I've considered in the past. The trick is, when you have thin hair you tend to want to put LOTS of extensions on your head. For super thin hair you don't need many tape ins. They do not cause damage to hair if installed properly. I've worn hair extensions on and off for 15+ years. My natural hair won't wont hold a curl to save my life. Me: I have thin, strawberry blonde hair that is pretty but flat as all heck.
